Hi
Friend got this guitar cheap to learn on but it needs some work.. I chuckled at first about the condition and brought it home for repair. .thing is, now I look at it I think it may be a decent classic guitar and perhaps it Brazilian rosewood. .

Anyone know anything about these guitars please and value

Repairs needed are -bridge reglue, new tuners

Are those steel strings... no wonder it needs a bridge reglue.

Giannini's are not valuable and were imported to many places including the US. It could be BRW but back in the day even cheap guitars used BRW... go figure....

If it is BRW, I would seriously consider buying it from your friend and re-topping it. After all, when are you going get a chance to build a BRW guitar? Re-carve the neck to your liking, correct any neck angle issues, make a new fingerboard. Not suggesting it would be easy, but what better use of that BRW body?

It looks like it got wet and molded. Check inside to see what kind of condition it is. Also check whether it is has a laminated top and back. If so, the value of the BRW will be zip.

The inside looks a lot like mahogany so probably plywood

From here at least.... It doesn't look like Brazilian rosewood... What I see in the pic - the back looks laminated.

Gianninis often use BRZ Rosewood in places which make no sense. I've got one with back braces made of it. Some Gianinis sound much better than others, even then have little market value. I had this one small classic with a quiet but amazingly beautiful balanced tone..... I miss it. I've never seen one with solid back or sides.
